With all the different kinds of formatting that Word offers, you may sometimes find it hard to see exactly what formatting is applied to particular characters or a paragraph. Word provides two tools to help you find out: the Style Inspector and the Reveal Formatting pane. Hidden text Select which hidden data you want to check for, then click Inspect. The document is analyzed, and any instances of the selected hidden data are noted. Click the Remove All button next to a category’s results to remove those elements.
I have been working with Excel 2013 for a while and am a bit perplexed by a pop-up I am getting and why I am getting it.
I am using a macro capable workbook so that I can use some macros.
Everytime I save my workbook I get the following error:
'Be careful. Parts of your document may include personal information that can't be removed by the Document Inspector.'
This is followed by the normal 'OK' and 'Cancel' buttons.
This seems to be the only workbook that has this that I know of, but I can't seem to figure out what to google in order to learn about it. I seem to get things matching Document or Upload Inspector.
All help is appreciated.
Hidden Data Tool
This was built-in to the Document Inspector tool
Before you share a document you can use this Document Inspector to check, find and remove information like comments, versions, tracked changes, ink annotations, document properties, hidden text, custom XML, etc
(File > Info > Check for Issues > Inspect Document > Inspect
This will generate a report
If the document contains any tracked changes then you will be presented with a 'Remove All' button
Using this button is not recommended unless you are very familiar with tracked changes and want to accept all the changes in a single click. There is no confirmation ??
There will be several 'Remove All' buttons after the document has been inspected.
Comments - removes all comments and accepts all changes
Document Properties and Personal Information - keeps tracked changes but removes reviewer name and date/time
When you go back and select (File > Info) Prepare for sharing there is a note telling you that personal information will be removed when the document is saved.
(Office > Prepare > Inspect Document > Inspect
Embedded versions have been removed
